Coatman signs to play baseball for Barton County
Matt Coatman signed a letter-of-intent to play baseball for Barton County Community College next season. Coatman is a senior at Lincoln Southeast High School in Lincoln, Neb.

Coatman, a shortstop and four-year starter hit .383 with 15 RBIs during his junior season. He also was to the All-City and All-Conference teams in 2002.

During his sophomore and junior seasons, Lincoln Southeast qualified for the state tournament. The past two summers, Coatman played in the Cornhusker league winning the league title in 2002.

Coatman also was a four-year honor roll student with a 3.7 GPA.
