Lara signs to play baseball for Barton County
Marcus Lara signed a letter-of-intent to play baseball for Barton County Community College next season. Lara is a senior at Wichita Heights High School.

As a junior for the Falcons, Lara hit .333 while playing shortstop. Heights captured the 2002 6A Regional title. He has been a 3-year starter for the Falcons.

Playing for the Wichita Sluggers Baseball Academy in the summer, Lara hit .405 in 2002. He is rated among the top 100 seniors in the Midwest by Team One Baseball. He was a 2002 USSSA all-tournament selection for his team that won the World Series.

Lara also wrestled at Heights High School.
