McDougal and Ainley named Barton Sports' Players of the Week #GoBarton

Allyson McDougal of the Barton softball team and Louis Ainley of the men's swimming team are highlighted as the Barton Sports "Players of the Week".

Allyson McDougal
The freshman right fielder extended her hit streak to twelve straight with a hit in each of Barton's four contests, adding an RBI in each extending her streak to six. Batting .500 with a .813 slugging percentage, McDougal helped Barton to a 3-1 week including knocking Seward County from the conference unbeatens. Going 4-of-7 against the Saints, McDougal connected on three doubles and drove in three runs. On Saturday in Garden City, McDougal followed with a pair of multi-hit contests including another pair of two-bag hits extending both her hit and RBI streaks.

The performances not only earned McDougal the Week 6 KJCCC Player of the Week but one day later earned the national distinction from the NJCAA.

Louis Ainley
Individually Ainley highlighted the men's 4th place National performances capturing national runner-up finishes and the programs quickest times in the 50-yard backstroke (22.55) and 100-backstroke (49.20). The freshman's final podium finish came in the 50-breaststroke earning a third place and third quickest time in program history (25.37).

Ainley was also a part of the Cougars' lone national title in Thursday's final event of the 200-yard medley relay with Javan Titus, Ethan Baylin, and Dominik Strba topping the seven team field in 3:20.78, falling just .19 seconds off the program's top time. The four-pack nearly doubled up with a second national title in Friday's 200-medley relay finishing runner-up with the second quickest time in program history (1:30.93).
