Coinciding with the start of the spring athletic contests, Mother Nature is in mid-season form causing changes to Barton Community College sports calendar.

Both the Cougar softball and baseball teams will embark on their respective 2018 season openers sooner than expected as each take the diamond on Thursday.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, first-year Softball Head Coach Tyler Gunelson's first look at the Lady Cougars on the diamond occurs two days earlier than expected as Barton hosts Division II No. 9 ranked Cowley College on Thursday in 1:00 p.m. first pitch doubleheader at Cougar Field.

Fourth-year Head Coach Brent Biggs and his baseball squad begin their campaign a day earlier in Poteau, Oklahoma, with two days of doubleheader action against Carl Albert State College beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday.
