Title: Assistant Volleyball Coach

Entering her first season as assistant coach for Cougar Volleyball, Kelsey Boyles brings an impressive playing career resume to help the team.

A Salina, Kansas, native, Boyles played her first two collegiate seasons for fellow Jayhawk Conference member Highland Community College where she earned back-to-back first team KJCCC and Region VI honors.

Returning home to Salina, Boyles continued her dominance as a middle hitter at Kansas Wesleyan University.  During her two seasons with the Coyotes, Boyles again earned back-to-back honors by being named to the KCAC first team.

During her junior season a KWU, Boyles helped lead her team to a 27-11 overall record and a conference champion 17-1 record.   The Coyotes then went on to earn a berth in the NAIA Volleyball Championship becoming the first KCAC school since 1985 to do so.

Individually, along with her conference and first team honors, Boyles was also named an honorable mention selection on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) West Central All-Region Team.  Boyles ranked 8th nationally in total blocks and 10th in blocks per set while also earning conference ranks of being tied for first in blocks per set, 11th in Points, and 13th in hitting percentage.

Boyles’ senior campaign was almost as impressive as the Coyotes 14-4 conference mark was good for second place while finishing 25-14 on the season.  Leading the team in service aces, Boyles also ranked 5th in the conference in blocks and 13th in attack percentage.

A 2007 graduate of Salina South High School, Boyles was an all-league selection while being named to the Kansas Volleyball Association All-Star match in addition to playing in the Northeast Kansas All-Star Volleyball match.
