Balanced production leads 19th ranked Barton Volleyball to sweep over Kansas Wesleyan JV #GoBarton

The 19th ranked Barton Community College volleyball team received a total team effort Monday evening inside the Barton Gymnasium making quick work of the junior varsity squad of Kansas Wesleyan University in straight sets 25-13, 25-9, 25-18.

Closing out non-conference play and notching their 11th straight victory, the Cougars improve to 22-3 overall while the loss drops the Coyotes to 4-11 on the season.

In the midst of a three-game homestand, Barton returns to conference play Wednesday evening hosting Pratt Community College before welcoming Butler Community College on Saturday. A 6:30 p.m. first serve is slated for both matches.

Eight different Cougars recorded multiple kills led by the tandem of Anna Wierzbicki and Kassidy Nixon's six apiece. Wierzbicki led Barton's .237 attack converting on six of her eight swings for a .625 percentage while teaming up for five assisted blocks.

Akeir Scales led the net play with six blockages, a solo and five aided stuffs, while adding a pair of rise and shines.

Sophomores Bennie Horsch and Ella Rumford provided solid bench production with Horsch notching a season high three kills on seven swings and distributing seven assists while Rumford added five kills and four digs.

Leading the defensive backline was Clara Lindstrom's 10 digs to reach double-digits for the 10th straight match and 21st time in her 25 games played.

Maurin Reyes directed the offense dishing out a team high 10 assists while Elena Stankovic added nine falling one shy of double-figures for the first time this season.

Serving specialist Jada Coleman matched her career high three aces, sharing team high honors with Naya Danenberg's trio, as the duo helped Barton tie its' second highest service ace output of the season of 11.
