Barton's Testoni earns conference weekly award #GoBarton

Barton Volleyball's Mylena Testoni, 2021 week one KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week

Mylena Testoni of the 12th ranked Barton Community College volleyball team has been named week one KJCCC Division I Offensive Player of the Week.

The Region VI reigning Most Valuable Player picked up where she left off from last year in leading the Cougars to a trio of season opening sweeps at the SOCO Classic in Trinidad, Colorado. The first team All-American posted three double-double performances, attacked at a .557 clip, and had just four errors in seventy swings.

In Friday's season opener, Testoni led Barton with 14 kills on a .345 attack while picking up her first double-double of the year with 19 digs. Taking on the host Trinidad State Trojans in the evening contest, the Cougars clicked on all cylinders as fourteen players combined for a .455 attack with Testoni's .739 attack on 17 kills with no errors on 23 swings pacing the offense. Wrapping up the trip on Saturday against Otero Junior College, Testoni recorded her third straight double-double to open the season putting together a 12 kills .667 attack and 12 dig performance.

Testoni and the Cougars head to Concordia today for a 6:30 p.m. conference opener at Cloud County Community College. Barton will then travel to Norfolk, Nebraska, for the weekend before an Arizona trip with matches throughout the week to close out the month of August and bring in September.
