Barton Volleyball's Testoni becomes three-time KJCCC player of the week #GoBarton

Barton Volleyball's Mylena Testoni wins week four 2021 KJCCC Division 1 Offensive Player of the Week

For the third time in four weeks, Mylena Testoni of the Barton Community College volleyball team has been named the KJCCC Division I Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.

Testoni had a solid overall match last Monday's in Barton's lone contest helping the Cougars to a sweep over Pratt Community College. Nearly posting a double-double with a nine kills and nine digs, Testoni struck for a .462 attack including three service aces while defensively recording three blocks.

The award is the sixth for the Barton program with Testoni winning the award consecutively in week one and week two of the season, being joined by setter Alyssa Herter and libero Hanna Miller in the season's opening week. Miller's defensive effort in week one also garnered national recognition in being named the NJCAA Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

Barton has been sitting idle since its match last Monday with its scheduled Thursday match hosting Colby Community College being postponed. Now 10-2 on the season and 2-0 in KJCCC action, the nationally receiving votes Cougars will have a busy week ahead with three road contests as two come against the current top two teams in the standings.

The week begins with a Monday trip to Dodge City Community College followed by a Thursday match at 6th ranked Seward County Community College, wrapping up with a Saturday tangle with second place Garden City Community College.

Following the road trip, Barton will be home for their next two matches, beginning Monday, March 1, versus Butler Community College with Hutchinson Community College visiting the Barton Gym on Thursday, March 4.
