Cougar Volleyball sweeps Saturday non-conference foes, prepare for home finale #GoBarton

Kate Deterding goes for an attack

The Barton volleyball team stepped out of conference play on Saturday for a twin bill in Hesston, Kansas, coming away with a sweep beginning with a 25-23, 25-19, and 25-22 dispatching of host Hesston College before putting away Southeast Community College 25-13, 25-22, and 25-22. The day's work improved Barton to 16-13 on the season with two conference games remaining, the first coming in the fifth place 6-8 Cougars' home finale on Monday against seventh place Dodge City Community College (4-10, 18-13) for a 6:30 p.m. first serve.

"A good day of competition where everyone was able to play," said Head Coach Brandon Stephenson. "We just need to focus from whistle to whistle every point. Digging a hole every set is tough to come back from as it takes a mental toll. We'll go back to the basics for our finale two conference matches and look to finish strong."
