Playing its second consecutive match against one of the top teams in the conference, the Barton Community College volleyball team came up empty again losing 25-18, 25-11, and 25-23 Thursday evening at Seward County Community College.   Concluding the regular season with the loss doesn't hurt the sixth place Cougars in the standings falling to 6-10 and 9-23 overall nor did it help the second place Lady Saints as Seward County improved to 13-3 and 24-14 on the season.  Barton will begin Region VI playoff action on Wednesday as the Cougars travel to third seeded Cloud County Community College for a 6:30 p.m. first round first serve.

Emily Deterding again led the Cougars for the third straight game with nine kills followed by Nathalia Gouveia's seven as the duo combined for sixteen of Barton's twenty-eight kills.  Lydia Konrade led with eleven digs while Mallory McQueen had sixteen assists.
