Barton Community College volleyball sophomore Casey Friesen was recently selected to the All-Jayhawk West/All-Region VI Division I second team.   The only Barton played for post season honors, Friesen was the primary setter throughout the season recording thirteen double-doubles.  The Pflugerville, Texas, native led the Cougars with 5.03 assists per set, 659 total assists, a .234 attack percentage, while also ranking third on the team with 2.5 digs per set.

"Casey did an amazing job for us this season as our number one setter," said Barton Volleyball Head Coach Phil Shoemaker.

Playing in all sets 130 this season and 233 of 252 throughout her Barton career, Casey did so despite being 100% healthy.

"She's a warrior," Shoemaker said.  "Despite this being a tough season for her physically and us overall, Casey always battled, kept her head up, provided greatly needed leadership, and gave us everything she had.   She is a great tactician, and leader, and once she's back to full health she will do a great job at whatever school is lucky enough to sign her."
