7th ranked Barton women's soccer wraps up second consecutive outright conference title following 5-1 victory over Garden City #GoBarton

The 7th ranked Barton Community College women's soccer secured its second straight outright KJCCC title on Saturday following a home field 5-1 victory over Garden City Community College.

Putting three goals on the board in the first twenty-four minutes, the Cougars utilized its full roster to outshoot the Broncbusters 26-2 in riding out the big victory in notching the program's fourth league crown.

Barton improves to 11-1-3 atop the standings and overall while Garden City falls to 3-8-4 in league and 8-8-4 overall.

The Cougars wrap up the regular season slate on Monday in a 3:00 p.m. home kick-off against first year program Seward County Community College (1-12-2, 1-12-3) before turning its sights on post-season set for Saturday, October 28.

Fiona Jolly's unassisted strike to the upper-90 put Barton on the board just under nine minutes into the contest with Ivanna Faria burying two net rattlers within twenty-seven seconds of each other ballooning the margin to three by the 24-minute mark.

A quick hit counter by the Broncbusters midway through second half action cut the deficit to two with 21:43 remaining but the Cougars remained in full command to add an Aya Saiki goal ten minutes later with Yulisa Valdez finding the net for the first time of the sophomore's season with 7:53 remaining to cap the scoring.

Barton put 17 of its shots on frame to just two for the visitors as the Broncbusters' goalkeeper Leydaly Enriquez kept the margin respectable by making numerous tough stops within her 12 total saves.

Mio Tanaka benefitted from a stout defensive line of Siaomee Bagnost, Alissa Rainon, Hinata Kojima, and OceAne Deslauriers to earn the victory in net improving to 11-1-3.
