Saiki's nine-point day leads 7th ranked Barton women's soccer to 7-0 shutout win over Coffeyville #GoBarton

The 7th ranked Barton Community College women's soccer team posted its fifth shutout of the season Wednesday afternoon earning a 7-0 victory over Coffeyville Community College at the Cougar Soccer Complex.  

Completing the regular season sweep, the victory moves the Cougars to 8-1-2 in conference play and overall while the loss drops the Red Ravens to 2-8-0 in league play and 4-8-0 on the season.

Barton will have the weekend off before traveling to 14th ranked Kansas City Kansas Community College next Wednesday for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff.

Nina Norshie opened the scoring with the first of her two goals on the afternoon just 4:46 in with a far post strike from Ivanna Faria's trough ball moving into sole possession of fourth all-time for points in a career.

Producing nine points on the afternoon, Aya Saiki extended the Barton lead to 5-0 in a span of 17:02 as the sophomore midfielder accounted for the next four goals rattling the nets a trio of times off a pair of Rin Sato setups while assisting to Sato's first net finder of the year.

Fresh off a two-goal output in Saturday's win at 17th ranked Butler, Fiona Jolly created her first collegiate assist to open the second half scoring setting up Saiki's fourth net finder of the afternoon.

Norshie concluded the Cougar scoring with her second marker of the afternoon moving one-point shy for third most in a career heading in Leticia Silva's first collegiate assist coming on a beautiful cross sent into the box.

Mio Tanaka came up with five saves in 59-minutes of action improving to 5-1-2 on the year while Raianny Lopes patrolled the pipes over the final 31-minutes denying two Red Raven shots.
