Barton Women's Soccer result at Garden City

Once the 12th ranked Barton Community College women's soccer team got rolling late Wednesday afternoon, the outcome was decided quickly in picking up a 4-0 victory at Garden City Community College.

It took the Cougars over twenty-seven minutes to find the net before rattling the net three times in less than twenty minutes, tacking on an insurance tally six minutes into the final half.

The victory improves Barton to 4-1-2 overall and in league play while Garden City drops to 1-4-2 in conference and 5-4-2 overall.

Barton continues its swing through southwest Kansas on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. kick at first-year program Seward County Community College.

Nina Norshie broke her three-game scoreless stretch by netting a pair of goals, the first proving to the be the game winner 22:20 before halftime putting away Oceane Deslauriers' first collegiate assist. The scoring play began from Aya Saiki, finding Deslauriers on the left wing in immediately sending a forward ball where Norshie struck far post from fifteen out.

Norshie played a foot in all three of the Cougars' first half goals, creating defensive pressure of the Broncbusters' passing and deflecting a kick coming out of goal resulting in a loose ball at the top of the eighteen where Saiki drilled mid-net putting the Cougars' up two with 5:33 remaining.

Two minutes later, the combination of Rin Sato to Deslauriers created another Norshie tally as the sophomore volleyed the arcing pass into the box for her 48th goal as a Cougar.

Just 3:42 into second half action, Sato further implanted her name in the top ten program record books for assists sending a corner kick into the box being met by the rise-n-shine header from Siaomee Bagnost to ring the bell for her first time of the year.
