Rattling the nets with 20:34 remaining, the 16th ranked Barton Community College women's soccer team notched a key 2-1 road win over Cowley College Wednesday night in Arkansas City, KS

Sweeping the season series against the Tigers, the Cougars' keep atop the KJCCC West standings at 9-1-0 and move to 13-2-0 on the season while the loss drops Cowley to 4-5-0 in conference play and 7-5-0 on the year. Barton will continue the road trip Saturday morning for a key Jayhawk battle against the KJCCC East regular season champions Butler Community College Grizzlies in an 11:00 a.m. kickoff.

Just 8:22 into the contest, Nina Norshie rose overhead the Tiger defense on the backside of Hinano Nakagawa's free kick cross heading away her 37th of the season giving Barton a 1-0 advantage.

Holding the lead throughout the rest of the opening half and approaching the midway point of the second half, Cowley would strike for the equalizer slipping past the Cougar defense with a far post strike knotting it up at 1-1.

Kicking it back in attack mode, Barton needed just six-minutes before breaking the deadlock as Rin Sato's through ball to the backside caught the Tiger defense off guard where Ivanna Faria dialed up a far post strike for her sixth of the season pushing the Cougars in front for good.

Nia Baker patrolled the pipes for the Cougars improving to 9-2-0 on the season.
