Barton women’s soccer tabbed second in KJCCC West preseason coaches' poll #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's soccer team has been tabbed to finish second in the Jayhawk West for the upcoming 2022-23 season according to the league member coaches' voting.

A runner-up KJCCC West finish a season ago at 9-3-1, the Lady Cougars advanced to the Region VI/Plains District semifinals for the second straight year before concluding the season at 13-4-1 overall, marking their 14th straight winning season.

Head Coach Ousmane Camara enters his seventh season piecing together a rather new squad after losing all seven postseason honors from last year's teams including two-time All-America Seulgi Lee.

Barton will look to its' seven returners including four starters who made 10 or more starts in the lineup, goalkeeper Nia Baker, forward Alisia Solis, defenders Olivia Allen and Natalia Baltodano.

Defending conference champion Cowley College is predicted to defend its Jayhawk West title with Hutchinson in third followed by Garden City and Dodge City.

The Lady Cougars kickoff the season at home Saturday August 20, at 1:00 p.m. as they host Trinidad State College at the Cougar Soccer Complex. Concluding a three game road trip including a pair of matches against national powerhouses Trinity Valley Community College and Tyler Junior College, Barton will begin conference play at home August 31, against Garden City Community College.
