Baker and Inmee earn Week 7 Barton Sports Weekly Athletic Award Honors #GoBarton

Barton Sports Student Athletes of the Week for Week of 10/5/21

Barton Women's Soccer goalkeeper Nia Baker and Women's Golf player Pornnapa Inmee ahve been named the week 7 "Barton Sports Weekly Athletic Award Honors."

Nia Baker snagged her second straight and fifth career KJCCC weekly award while also earning her third national distincition as the NJCAA's week seven Goalkeeper of the Week. The reginging week 6 KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week and the Barton defense continued their hot stretch protecting the net for the Cougars stopping all four shots faced in Barton's 1-0 upset victory over #14 Cowley College. Baker extended her minutes without allowing a goal to 248:30 dating back to September 18th.

The sophomore keeper and 16th ranked Cougars will ride its' seven game winning streak into Wednesday road contest at Hutchinson Community College in a 6:00 p.m. first kick from the Salthawk Sports Complex.

Pornnapa Inmee helped the Barton Community College women's golf team capture its' second team crown of the season at last week's Barton Invitational. Pornnapa paced the Cougar five-pack individually securing her first collegiate tournament leading the field by seven strokes shooting both top rounds of 81 and 79 for a 16-over 160. 

The Cougars concluded this week's Tempest Intercollegiate with a fifth place finish at the Tempest Golf Club in Gladewater, Texas. Barton will have some time before heading back south for its next meet, traveling to Enid, Oklahoma, October 18-19 for the 6th Annual Ranger Fall Invitational held at Meadowlake Golf Course
