Barton women's soccer nets late goal for victory over Johnson County #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's soccer team stayed unbeaten on the early season scoring a pair of late goals Saturday at the Soccer Complex in defeating Johnson County Community College 3-2.

The win improves the Cougars to 4-0-1 in conference play and 5-0-1 on the season in dropping Johnson County to 2-3 in both league and on the year.

A trio of contests line up a busy week for Barton in road trips to Garden City on Monday and a Wednesday trip to Cowley College before hosting nationally ranked Kansas City Kansas next Saturday.

Kadin Stinson netted a pair of goals on the day, one giving Barton the early lead with the final goal providing the game winner with under five minutes to play. Seulgi Lee set up Stinson's first net rattler sending a long pass to the corner where Stinson settled the ball then launched far post putting Barton up just under twenty minutes into the contest.

Johnson County got the equalizer less than four minutes later as a defensive foul sent Darrian Gordan to the penalty kick line, drilling far post just beyond Nia Baker's saving attempt.

The Cavaliers took the lead just three minutes into the second frame as Gordan sent a long pass to Brock Allen in finding the net near post.

Down to the final ten minutes of regulation, Daniela Paez created an opportunity for Annika Gerdau as the freshman launched from just inside the eighteen to rattle the net top shelf for the equalizer with 9:02 on the clock.

The attacking Cougars created more opportunities with the game winner coming on Stinson's blistering the net rebounding Fatima Leme's blocked shot attempt with 4:57 left for the difference maker.
