Barton women's soccer cruises to victory over Southeast #GoBarton

Barton women's soccer player Kadin Stinson celebrates scoring a goal

The Barton Community College women's soccer team scored four second half goals Thursday to blank Southeast Community College 5-0 Thursday afternoon at Cougar Field.

Barton improves to 2-0-1 on the year in dropping Southeast to 0-4 on the season.

The Cougars return to conference action on Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. kick at Neosho County Community College.

Launching 32 shots on the afternoon, just one found the net in first half action as Kadin Stinson drilled top shelf from 20 yards out from Seulgi Lee's assist.

Francesca Martella opened up the second half scoring just 58 seconds out of the halftime break, putting away Daniela Paez' corner kick on a header to far post.

Three minutes later Stinson also found the backside of the Storm's defense in finishing off Paez' cross.

The pair would team up again six minutes later, Paez third assist and second off a corner kick, would set up Stinson's first collegiate hat trick in striking near post upper-90 pushing Barton's lead out to 4-0 with 33:21 remaining.

Dahien Cabrera put the final touches on the victory with twelve minutes left in the contest by sending a laser from the top of the eighteen to the top shelf.

Reigning conference and national goalkeeper of the week Nia Baker picked up the shutout win in net as the Cougar defense allowed just five shots as Baker rejected two on frame.
