As explosive as the offense has been for the Barton Community College women's soccer team this season, equally impressive has been the defense as the Lady Cougars shutout their fourth straight opponent with Wednesday's 13-0 victory over Pratt Community College the latest.

Concluding the four game home stand at the Cougar Soccer Complex with its fourth straight blowout win, Barton improves to 4-0-1 in Jayhawk play and 5-2-1 overall while Pratt drops to 1-4-0 and 3-5-0. Next up for the Cougars is a pivotal battle for the top spot in the Jayhawk West standings as Barton travels to unbeaten 15th ranked Cloud County Community College (5-0, 7-0) for a 6:00 p.m. kick at Concordia's Harold M. Clark Stadium.

The reigning KJCCC Player of the Week and conference leading attacker Rayssa Neres had another explosive outing, netting five goals and distributing two others for a program top ten effort in goals and points in a game. Neres led Barton's trio of first half goals with a 10:32 into the contest net shaker coming on Sydney Sulzman's first assist of the year.

Fresh off her hat trick against Garden City, Johanna Behrens put Barton's second goal on the board just a minute later giving Domenica Pena's first collegiate assist. Laura Maria, who would later set up Neres' third goal of the game, gave the Cougars the three goal edge to the halftime break in putting away Neres' first of two assists on her ninth goal of the season with 1:13 before intermission.

Larissa Fagundes increased her sophomore season total to eight by converting a pair of penalty kicks, the first coming 3:42 into the second frame increasing the lead to four then striking the Cougars' tenth on the board coming with 19:27 remaining. Fagundes also added her sixth assist of the season five minutes following her first penalty, setting up Neres for the then 5-0 lead. Thirty seconds later Ariadna Ramirez posted her fourth goal of the season breaking through the defense and striking upper-90 far post.

Neres hit the hat trick mark with 24:25 remaining off a beautiful cross from Maria then pick-pocketed a Beaver player to then blast near post just sixty-five second later. Following Fagundes' second PK conversion, Neres wrapped up her scoring muscling through a pair of defenders and beating the keeper near post with 15:16 left in earning her seventeenth goal of the season.

A couple of Cougars enjoyed a collegiate first goal, with Rene Brown slamming in Rayssa Neres' blocked shot with 30:19 remaining while sophomore Connie Norris sent the Barton bench into a celebratory frenzy as the Hays sophomore struck far post with 10:06 left in the game for the final thirteenth goal.

Georgia Lawton almost added her name alongside Brown and Norris with 14:21 remaining but the England freshman's long free kick deflected off the keeper with Larissa Modesto striking in the rebound.

In a torrid four game stretch, Barton has outscored its opponents 44-0 with twelve different players in the scoring column including eight different Cougars rattling the nets in Wednesday's contest. Reserve goalkeeper Priscilla Munoz, who turned back three Beaver shots including two from point blank range, has tended net in all but forty-five minutes of the four game stretch in helping preserve the shutouts.
