The Barton Community College women's soccer team added to their halftime lead with four second half goals to win 6-0 Saturday afternoon over Dodge City Community College.

The Cougars improved to 2-0-1 in Jayhawk play and 3-2-1 overall in dropping Dodge City to 2-2-0 in conference and 3-4-1 overall. Game three of the four-game home stand looms in just two days as Garden City Community College comes to the Cougar Soccer Complex on Monday for a 2:00 p.m. kick-off.

Recording her second consecutive three-goal output, freshman Rayssa Neres helped give the Cougars a 2-0 halftime lead distributing two assists for the Brazilian's eight point afternoon.

Laura Maria, coming off a two-goal, two-assist game Wednesday versus Hesston, was on the receiving end of Neres' two assists in putting a pair of goals on the scoreboard in a span of three minutes. Maria's first net shaker came just 3:55 into the came from a beautiful combination from Larissa Fagundes and Neres with Maria on the back side to send to missile past the keeper in lower third near post. Neres again found Maria breaking free and receiving a perfect through ball doubled up the Cougar lead with her 6th of the year coming with 38:07 still on the first half clock.

A second wave of Cougars began the final forty-five minutes, keeping the slate clean while wearing down the Conquistadors on the 125 degree turf.

Looking to put the game away, the big three checked back in and made an immediate impact with Reyes getting a steal and beating the keeper near post then three minutes later rattled the nets again in blasting away Ariadna Ramirez' second assist of the year.

Fagundes joined her fellow Brazilian teammates in getting on the scoreboard with 8:27 to play, pounding in her sixth goal of the year in finishing off Maria's team leading eighth assist of the season.

Barton's final goal was set up by the long ball as Raley Mantz' long pass was caught by Reyes to finish off the hat trick winning the 1v1 situation and award the Derby sophomore's first collegiate assist.

Priscilla Munoz earned her second consecutive shutout victory in net, keeping the sheet clean in turning back a pair of second half shots on frame.
