Reyna Gonzalez of the Barton Community College women's soccer team has been named the week three KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week.

The sophomore from Liberal, Kansas, faced a barrage of shots Saturday at Hutchinson Community College, facing thirty shots with fifteen on frame in registering twelve saves as the teams battled to a 3-3 double overtime time.

Barton led 3-1 late in the contest, but unfortunate series of events helped aid the Blue Dragons comeback. The first came with 13:20 to play as the ball deflected off a Cougar defender resulting in an own goal and ten minutes later, a defensive miscue resulted in a Blue Dragon penalty kick for the tying goal just off Gonzalez' finger tips with three minutes left in regulation.

The Cougars possessed most of the first overtime period with two prime opportunities to pick up their first win in Hutchinson since 2013 but missed a break-away 1v1 situation mid-way through the frame while a late attack just missed wide.

Hutchinson also missed a few great opportunities to keep its record unblemished, first getting a goal wiped off the board late in regulation on an offside call then in the second overtime period missing a breakaway 1v1 in part to the hustling recovery by the Barton defense before getting stymied on a Gonzalez diving save on the far post with thirty seconds left on the clock.

The Jayhawk Conference opening result left Barton 1-2-1 on the season heading to Wednesday's home matchup at 2:00 p.m. with Hesston College.
