Barton Soccer begins playoffs on Thursday, Lady Cougars book Saturday trip to Johnson County #GoBarton

Pairings and game times for both of the Barton Community College soccer teams for the upcoming Region VI playoffs have been announced with the Cougar men the first on the pitch beginning on Thursday.

The Cougars concluded the regular season on a four game win streak at 12-5-1 and earned a first round playoff game by finishing second in the West Division with an 8-3-1 record. Barton will be the third seed overall and will play the East's third place finisher and region sixth seeded Cowley College (6-3-1, 9-4-2) in a 3:00 p.m. kick-off Thursday afternoon at the Cougar Soccer Complex.

Fighting for their playoff lives down the stretch, the Lady Cougars are also on a four game win streak to earn the West Division's fourth playoff position, finishing the regular season at 6-4-2 in region play and 9-5-3 overall. The region seventh seeded Lady Cougars have a Saturday trip to Overland Park, Kansas, to take on No. 18 ranked Johnson County Community College. Earning the top seed out of the East Division in a tie breaker over No. 17 Butler Community College, the Lady Cavaliers finished tied atop the East standings at 11-1 with a 14-4 overall mark.
