The Barton Community College women's soccer team rallied from a halftime deficit to score three second half goals Sunday in a 3-1 Region VI victory at Hesston College. With the victory the Lady Cougars stay alive for a playoff berth improving to 5-4-2 in the Region VI standings and 6-5-3 on the season while dropping Hesston to 4-8 and 9-8 on the year.

Barton has three regular season games remaining, a home contest with Pratt Community College on either side of two matchups against Northwest Kansas Technical College with the first coming this Wednesday in a 2:00 p.m. kick-off at the Cougar Soccer Complex.

The Larks managed just three shots in first half action but was able to squeeze one in the frame with eleven minutes before half on Miya Gonda's goal from Miho Okunda.

Barton dominated second half play limiting Hesston to just one shot while sending nine on frame. Thamires Lima picked an opportune time to net her first collegiate goal coming off a corner kick situation for the equalizer coming at the fourteen minute mark into the second half.

The Lady Cougars would strike quick for their next two goals, getting the game winner from Shanai Jackson-Brown's second goal of the season with sixteen minutes to play in putting away Sydney Sulzman's free kick. Sulzman would strike again, this time unassisted on a free kick, netting the freshman's third goal while giving the Lady Cougars a cushion just five minutes later.
