Lady Cougars rattle the nets for three second half goals in shutout over Hesston #GoBarton

Elizabeth Fematt celebrates with Thamires Lima after her goal

In just their second game on the home turf, the result for the Barton Community College women's soccer team was identical as the Lady Cougars scored three second half goals Tuesday for a 3-0 Region VI victory over Hesston College. Playing against a 25-30mph south wind during first half action, Barton launched twelve shots in the final forty-five with three different players rattling the net in victory. The Lady Cougars get back to .500 overall at 3-3-1 and 2-2-1 in the Region VI standings as Hesston falls to 2-3 in region play and 6-3 overall. Barton will next travel to Goodland, Kansas on Friday, taking on Northwest Kansas Technical College in a 3:00 p.m. (CT) kick-off against the 4-1 Lady Mavericks.

Putting up a 7-4 shot advantage in the first half, it didn't take the Lady Cougars long to break the scoreboard goose egg as Tressa Becker unleashed a 25-yard blast to the top-90 far post for Hays freshman second goal of year just 2:26 into the second frame.

Midway through the half the net would shake again in the upper-90, this time from El Paso, Texas, freshman Elizabeth Fematt registering her first collegiate goal the near post with 19:38 left in the contest putting away Jordan Bruner second assist of the year.

Sophomore Kirsty Ashworth put the final touches on the contest with 5:26 left drilling the upper-90 near post with a transcontinental missile from approximately forty yards out for the England native's first of the year
