Reyna Gonzalez of the Barton Community College women's soccer team has been named the KJCCC Kansas MTXE Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for week two of the 2017 season. This past week in the Lady Cougars' double overtime scoreless draw at State Fair Community College, the Liberal, Kansas, freshman helped anchor the defense and rejected five shots to keep the net clean in the 110 minute contest to run her consecutive scoreless streak to 217 minutes.

Most recently, Wednesday night Gonzalez' defense tacked on another 110 minute goose egg posting its third straight shutout as Barton battled to its second straight double overtime scoreless tie in the Lady Cougars conference opener at Dodge City Community College. Now 1-1-2 on the season, Barton will get its biggest test of the early season on Saturday traveling Hutchinson to take on the nationally receiving votes and 4-0 Blue Dragons in a 3:00 p.m. kick-off.
