Cougars tune up for ’15 season with Saturday scrimmages

Three of the Barton Community College fall sport teams will have tune up scrimmages this Saturday in preparation for the start of the 2015 season.

The Cougar soccer program will be at home in doubleheader action as both the men's and women's team take the pitch at the Cougar Soccer Complex.   Having a Wednesday scrimmage under their belt, the Barton women will have their second test on the home turf as the Lady Cougars will welcome the Tigers of Fort Hays State University for a 10:00 a.m. scrimmage.   Later in the day, fans will get their first look at the Barton men's team as the Cougars take on Bethany College in a 2:00 p.m. kick.  Both teams will travel to Tabor College on August 21 for a final tune up before regular season play.  The Lady Cougars will open on August 23 at Bethel College before both teams meet up with Central Christian College on August 25 in McPherson.

Barton Volleyball takes to the road for their scrimmage, traveling to El Dorado for a full day of scrimmages hosted by Butler Community College.  The Cougars will also open up the 2015 season on the road traveling to Lamar, Colorado, for the Little Caesar Classic before returning to the Barton Gym for its August 26 home and conference opener against Garden City Community College.
