The Barton Community College wrestling team concluded the regular season splitting its results on the road Wednesday evening at the Arley Bryant Gymnasium in Concordia, KS.

The Cougars opened the night defeating Colby Community College 39-9 for the team's first win of the season while earning Head Coach Nathan Broeckelman his first collegiate victory before dropping the nightcap to host Cloud County Community College 39-12.

Concluding the regular season with a 1-6 league mark and 1-11 overall record, the Cougars will now turn their focus to the postseason hosting the NJCAA West/Central District Championships February 10th at 9:00 a.m. inside the Barton Gym.

Barton produced eight different winners over the two duals with the lone victor in both matchups coming in the 285-division as freshman Nathan Agudzi-Addo secured a decision and fall in the nightcap.

In the opener against Colby, the Cougars controlled the action from start to finish notching a season high five falls and claimed seven of the nine wrestled bouts.

Avery Wolf in the 133-division got the evening started producing the first fall of the night in the second period as both teams were open in the 125-division.

Ensuing a Trojan fall in the 141-division drawing the match even at 6-6, Barton answered in a big way piecing four straight back flattening victories from 149-division Kayden Blake, 157-division Deryk Yott, 165-division Charles Neuman and Kaden Foster in the 174-division building up a 30-6 lead.

Succeeding a 30-0 run following Edgar Duarte Quiroz forfeit victory at 184-division, the teams swapped decision victories in the final two bouts with Agudzi-Addo settling Barton's 39-9 victory producing a 10-8 decision at the 285-division.

Victories would be hard to come by in the backend of the doubleheader as the Cougars fell into a 12-0 deficit being open at the 125-division and dropping a fall at 133.

Looking to overcome an early second-period fall in the opener, Stephan Baldwin returned the favor earning a first period pin in the nightcap cutting the deficit in half at 12-6.

Dropping the next six matches, Agudzi-Addo halted the T-Birds 27-0 run concluding the night recording the Cougars seventh fall over the two duals resting the final score at 39-12.

In the lone exhibition match, Ethan Boles dropped a 7-1 decision against Cloud County's Erik Darling.
