The Barton Community College wrestling team dropped its home opener Tuesday evening as Colby Community College rolled out a 34-12 victory.

The Cougars' next match is also on their home mat inside the Barton Gym, welcoming 7th ranked Northwest Kansas Technical College to the Barton gym in a 6:00 p.m. start time.

Dawson Chavez gave Barton its lone mat victory by taking care of Jenson Hoeme in just 44 seconds of the 157 division bout to even the sophomore's conference record at 1-1 on the year after suffering a heartbreak sudden victory loss last week.

Keondre Bonner picked up a forfeit win in the 174 division in closing out Barton's points on the night.

Colby picked up three open weight victories in the 141, 197, and 285.
