Florida bound, Barton women's golf slated for eleventh straight national tournament appearance #GoBarton

Barton women's golf team following announcement of its at-large bid for the 2022 NJCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championship tournament.

The Barton Community College women's golf team spent the last twenty-four hours lying in wait, receiving the news Wednesday afternoon the 12th ranked Cougars received an at-large bid for the NJCAA Division I Championships.

Barton placed third Tuesday behind automatic qualifiers 5th ranked Iowa Western and 3rd ranked Dodge City at Region VI/Plains District Tournament. Left up to a national committee, Barton was chosen as a recipient of the five at-large bids and will join fourteen other teams and fifteen individual entries May 9-12 at the Mayfair Country Club in Sanford, Florida.

Prior to the announcement, Barton was only going to be represented by Pawinee Sukasem following her automatic bid having finished in the top three individuals not on a qualifying team. Now being joined by her teammates, Sukasem's individual bid was given to the next in line within the Plains District.

Barton has finished within the Top-9 of the national tournament three straight seasons, including a program high 6th place finish in the 2019 season.

The Cougars' team set to keep the streak alive includes Sukasem, Paulina Villavicencio, Pornnapa Inmee, Mathanee Pandee, and Matilyn Newman, along with, alternate player Haleigh Spray and manager Jalyn Turner.
