10th ranked Barton women's golf concludes fall season with 4th place at Ranger Invitational #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's golf team concluded its fall portion of the schedule on Tuesday, placing fourth at the Ranger Invitational held at Meadowlake Golf Course in Enid, Oklahoma.

On Monday the Cougars shot a 345 but came back on Tuesday with the final round field's third best 348 score in finishing five strokes out of third place with a 127-over 703 for the tournament on the Par 72, 5947 yard course. Trailing Barton in the standings were the only other community colleges in the field with fellow Region VI member Fort Scott Community College placing fifth at 176-over 752 followed by Murray State Community College carding a 249-over 825.

Three NCAA Division II teams lined the top three of the leaderboard.  13th ranked Texas A&M Commerce ran away with the team title with a 39-over 615, thirty strokes better than 64th ranked Arkansas-Monticello's 69-over 698 as 125th ranked Northwestern Oklahoma State took the third spot at 122-over 698.

Pornnapa Inmee led the seven Cougars among the forty-entry field with an 11th place. Inmee stayed consistent in her two rounds, opening up with an 84 before finishing with an 82 for a combined 22-over 166, just two strokes out of a top eight standing.

An additional pair of Cougars joined Inmee in the top twenty of the field. Paulina Villavicencio carded rounds of 86 and 89 for a 31-over 175 in placing tied for 14th while Mathanee Pandee finished tied for 18th following Monday's 93 card preceding the team's second best final round of 87 for an accumulated 36-over 180.

Two strokes out of the four player 18th place log jam, Pawinee Sukasem shot 92 and 90 rounds for a 38-over 182 for sole possession of 22nd. Shaving six strokes off from Monday's 98 with a 92, Matilyn Newman tied for the 28th spot at 46-over 190 to round out the Barton team entries.

Leading a pair of Cougars competing as individualists, Haleigh Spray placed tied for 26th taking five strokes off her opening 97 with a 92 for a 45-over 189. Sasha Guinsbourg had the biggest final day improvement, posting a 97 following Monday's 104 for a 57-over 201 to place 32nd overall.

The Cougars will have the off-season in preparation for the spring schedule slated to begin in March.
