Barton women win seventh straight in blowout victory at Dodge City #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's basketball team avoided the proverbial "trap game" Saturday afternoon in Dodge City as the Cougars led throughout in an 87-61 victory at Dodge City Community College.

The 7th straight conference victory for the first time since the 2010-2011 season improves Barton to 10-3 in conference and 11-3 overall while Dodge City slips to 3-11 in league and 4-11 on the season.

Barton's next game is Monday, welcoming nationally vote receiving Seward County Community College (9-3, 9-3) to the Barton Gym in a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

Queen Ulabo's fourth straight double-double led the Cougars in pumping in 24 points and hauling down 12 rebounds. Vanessa Oduah was close behind with 21 points and 8 rebounds while dishing out five assists. Tiffany Dortland also put together a solid all-around game, knocking down 3-of-5 from behind the arc for 13 points, to go along with five rebounds and four assists.

Emery Maze was the lone Conquistador reaching double figures with 11 points with Keimora Banks next in line with seven.

Ulabo's efforts help Barton to a plus-16 advantage on the glass including a four rebound edged on the offensive rebound stat line.

Brennan Kirchhoff provided 10 points and seven dimes off the bench contributing to the Cougars' 27 assists on 35 made baskets.

An Ulabo steal off of Dodge City's first possession leading to a Cora Anderson transition layup set the tone as Barton would score the first six points in never looking back.

The Cougars led by seven through the first quarter, tacked on another six points in a twenty-eight point second frame to lead 46-33 at the break.

Barton increased the lead to seventeen with ten minutes to play before expanding the margin to thirty-one in cruising to the win.
