Two road double-doubles earns Barton's Regan consecutive conference player of the week honors #GoBarton #RoarCougs

Posting consecutive double-double performances on the conference road last week, Taylor Regan of the Barton Community College women's basketball team has again been named the KJCCC Women's Division I Basketball Player of the Week.

Following a weekly honor of averaging nearly a double-double, Regan put up even better numbers this week in road games at Northwest Kansas Technical College and most recently at then No. 11 ranked Seward County Community College.

Regan hauled down eighteen rebounds each game with twelve coming on the offensive glass while scoring sixteen and eighteen points respectively. This past Saturday in Liberal was symbolic of her contribution to the team's performance, playing all forty-five minutes of the overtime game in securing eight offensive rebounds including a key board with subsequent kick-out to Jaylin Stapleton putting Barton out front with under thirty seconds to play. A workhorse with a never ending motor, the Albert, Kansas, sophomore's ability to stay on the court and contribute has been pivotal for the Cougars as was her efficient 63% shooting from the field and 71% from the stripe and dishing out three dimes each game.

Regan not only leads the Region VI Division I in rebounding at 10.7 per game, but also in field goal percentage at 58.9% in raising her team second best scoring average to 11.3 points per game behind her ninth double-double performance of the season.

The Cougars will play their second straight ranked opponent in hosting No. 3 Hutchinson Community College today in a 5:30 p.m. tip at the Barton Gym. Barton currently sits in fourth place in the Jayhawk West at 7-4 and 14-6 overall while the Blue Dragons roll in atop the standings at 12-0 and an unblemished 21-0 record overall.

Hutchinson has won nineteen straight in the series including nine straight at the Barton Gym while Barton looks to improve on their 8-1 home record in seeking their first victory on the home floor against the Blue Dragons since the 2009 season.
