Barton women cruise to another big victory in the Best Western Booster Club Classic with 91-58 over Murray State #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's basketball team outscored Murray State College in each quarter Saturday evening at the Barton Gym in pulling away for a 91-58 victory to wrap up the women's action of the Best Western Angus Inn and Cougar Booster Club Classic.

The Cougars tripled up their seven point first quarter lead holding the Aggies to just twelve points as Barton's 53% first half shooting lead to the big twenty-one point margin to the locker room.
Taylor Regan scored ten of her team high fourteen points in the second frame alone to go along with five boards in the quarter. Regan would add five more rebounds in the third period helping Barton expand the lead by eight into the final quarter.

Regan's fourteen points led five Cougars in double-digits as the Albert native would haul down sixteen total boards in posting the sophomore's first double-double of the season. Jaylin Stapleton led with six dimes to go along with twelve points while Richelle Turney came off the bench to dish out four assists and score eleven points and seven defensive rebounds. Mallory Miller added ten as did Irene Chukwudi in just missing the double-double with nine rebounds.

Murray's Maddie Jessepe put up a game high twenty points while Kes Reeves' ten off the bench were the only other Aggies in double figures.

Hutchinson Community College handed No. 20 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College's its second consecutive loss as the No. 13 Blue Dragons built their final twenty-five point margin in first half action of their 82-57 victory.

Barton (3-0) will have just one game next week as the Cougars host Tabor College's junior varsity squad on Tuesday in a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
