A 10-0 late fourth quarter drought sent the Barton Community College women's team to a 55-51 defeat Saturday afternoon at Dodge City Community College. The loss drops Barton to 10-11 in conference play and 13-12 overall while Dodge City improves to 7-14 in Jayhawk play and 10-14 on the year. The Lady Cougars' next action comes Wednesday in a 5:30 p.m. tip against No. 14 ranked Hutchinson Community College (16-5, 20-5).

Dodge City grabbed a quick 9-0 advantage out of the gate and lead 13-2 before Barton would scrap back with a 9-0 run in closing the first quarter gap to 13-11. The Conqs stretched the lead back out to ten before another Barton run cut the deficit to one late in the half until one of three first half Conq three-pointers pushed to score to 28-24 just prior to halftime.

Barton flipped the script in the third quarter, storming out of the locker room in surging to a nine point lead with 3:20 to play. Outscoring the Conqs 17-7 in the third quarter, Barton carried the momentum into the final quarter leading 50-43 before things went south. The Conqs strung together a 10-0 run, taking over the lead with 2:12 left on Dodge City's seventh trey of the night giving the home team a two-point lead. A 1-of-2 trip to the line with 17 seconds remaining by Jaylin Stapleton to cut the deficit to two would be the only Barton points down the stretch as Conq free throws secured the four point win.

Reigning conference player of the week Taylor Regan had another solid game in leading the Lady Cougars with 13 points and eighteen rebounds for her sixth double-double of the year. Micaela Jellison, who led the Lady Cougars in the first quarter comeback, finished with ten points and grabbed nine rebounds to help Barton to a fifteen rebound advantage. Natasha Dolinsky set a new personal high with four steals while matching a career high five assists.

Alli Baker's career high twenty-four point night led all scorers with Kaylee Dale collecting a team high nine rebounds.
