The Barton Community College women's team controlled most of Saturday afternoon's action in Iola to snap a four game losing streak with a 66-56 win at Allen Community College. The victory hops Barton back over the .500 mark in conference play at 10-9 improving to 13-10 on the year while sending Allen to its third straight loss in dropping to 4-15 in the Jayhawk and 6-17 overall. Barton's next contest will come Wednesday at the Barton Gym in a 5:30 p.m. tip against fourth place Independence Community College (15-4, 19-4).

Jaylin Stapleton scored ten of her sixteen points in the first quarter including six coming in Barton's 9-0 run to close out for a 19-11 lead.

Scoring just eight points and having the Red Devils cut the halftime deficit to four, Barton found itself in quite the battle through the first seven minutes of the third as Allen tied it twice, the last coming at 38 with just under three to play.

Being sidelined by injury since early January, Irene Chukwudi played sparingly in the opening frame but made an impact in third sinking a pair of free throws to break the game's last tie. Buckets by Natasha Dolinsky and Taylor Regan ensued as Barton would build a six point lead to the fourth.

Dolinsky would play a part in the back breaking stretch midway through the fourth, capping a 7-0 run as Stapleton found her behind the arc in transition to bury her eighth trey of the year pushing the lead to 55-43 with 5:40 to play.

The lead hit the sixteen point margin twice in the next two minutes as Taylor Regan tied Stapleton for team high honors with her sixteenth point leading Barton in cruising to its sixth straight victory in the series.

Joining Stapleton and Regan in double figures was Dolinsky's thirteen point afternoon with Fatao Seck Ndao adding eleven. Regan also posted her second straight and fifth double-double of the season grabbing fifteen rebounds while Micaela Jellison grabbed ten in helping Barton to a twenty-nine rebound margin.

Jakira Wilson led the Red Devils with nineteen points with Kamri Summons and Destiny Pittman each scoring ten.

Stapleton and Jellison dished out four and three assists respectively to lead Barton while Wilson earned game high honors with five.
