Barton women lose at No. 12 Seward County #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's team spotted the No. 12 ranked Lady Saints of Seward County Community College the first fourteen points of Saturday's contest at The Greenhouse and never recovered in the 72-37 road loss. Barton falls to 9-8 in conference play and 12-9 overall while Seward County improves to 15-2 atop the standings and 19-2 on the season. Returning home from its two game road stretch, the Lady Cougars will next face No. 15 ranked Cowley College (14-3, 18-3) in a 5:30 p.m. Wednesday tip at the Barton Gym.

Mallory Miller led the Lady Cougar scoring with nine points with Ryen White setting a new personal best with eight points coming off the bench. Reigning conference player of the week Taylor Regan secured nine rebounds with six points while Jaylin Stapleton distributed four of Barton's ten assists.

Vanessa Caro's thirteen points off the bench led a balanced Lady Saint scoring night with Lexi Hernandez' twelve the only other player to reach double figures. Vilma and Carla Covane each secured seven rebounds each while also leading the team with four assists each.
