Lady Cougars match largest output in conference opening blowout over Colby #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's team opened up conference play Saturday night jumping out to a twenty point first quarter lead in blowing out Colby Community College at the Barton Gym 102-65. Matching their largest output of their season opener, Barton improves to 4-1 on the season while dropping Colby to 2-3. The Lady Cougars will have their first taste of action outside the friendly home confines on Wednesday as Barton travels to Garden City Community College on Wednesday for a 6:00 p.m. tip the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex.

Eleven players scored for Barton on the night being led by reigning conference player of the week Jaylin Stapleton's seventeen points to go along with a career high eight assists. Returning after taking Wednesday's junior varsity contest away from the court, Micaela Jellison's 7-of-11 shooting from the floor led to sixteen points while also grabbing six boards and dishing out four dimes. Coming off the bench Mallory Miller and Natasha Dolinsky added twelve and ten points respectively with Fatou Ndao just missing her second consecutive double-double night in grabbing twelve rebounds and scoring eight points. Taylor Regan also just came up shy on what would have been her first collegiate double-double scoring nine points while hauling down ten rebounds.

Kaitlyn Guillory led three Lady Trojans in double digits with a double-double night of nineteen points and ten rebounds. Jordan Dixon scored sixteen coming off the bench and Meagan Woodward added eleven.

Garden City limps into Wednesday's contest looking to snap a two game slide in slipping to 2-2 on the year after trailing by twenty at the halftime break in a 77-53 defeat at Butler Community College on Saturday.
