Roenfeldt sets another record, Barton women score thirty point victory over Pratt

The Barton Community College women's basketball team registered a thirty point margin Wednesday night at the Barton Gym with an 82-52 victory over Pratt Community College to sweep the season's series.  Tied at fifteen after the first ten minutes, the Lady Cougars limited the Beavers to just nineteen points in the next two frames while putting forty-eight points on the home side of the scoreboard in cruising to the win.  The victory improves Barton to 15-13 on the season in getting back to the .500 mark of conference play at 12-12 while dropping Pratt to 7-17 in the Jayhawk and 8-20 on the year.  The Lady Cougars will next head to Coffeyville Community College for a 5:00 p.m. tip on Saturday before wrapping up the regular season on Monday hosting Neosho County Community College.

Having broke the single game defensive rebound record eleven days prior, Katrina Roenfeldt again etched her name into the Barton record book surpassing Ipek Turkyilmaz' single season made three pointers.  Draining a trey in each of the first two quarters, Roenfeldt tied the 93 made three-pointer achievement set by Turkyilmaz during the 2007-2008 season off of Regan Unruh's pass with 5:12 left in the third quarter.  Less than three minutes later Megan Jirak found Roenfeldt at the top of the key with the Dodge City sophomore burying the record breaker with 2:36 on the third quarter clock.

Roenfeldt and Jirak each recorded their fourth double-double of the season as five Lady Cougars reached double digits.  Roenfeldt's 4-of-6 shooting behind the arc led to a fourteen point night while also leading the team with twelve rebounds and four steals.   Jirak added twelve points collecting eleven rebounds while sharing team high distribution efforts with Alexus Bryson as the two sophomores dished out four assists each.

Micaela Jellison's eighteen points off the bench led the five Lady Cougars in double digits with Jalisa Jones and Baylee Robinson contributing twelve and ten respectively.

Two Pratt players reached double digits led by the thirteen points from Channa Parvin and team leading seven rebounds and three assists.  Jada Catlin contributed ten points while dishing out a team high three assists.
