Off night sends Lady Cougars to home loss versus Cloud County

In an uncharacteristic "off night" performance, the Barton Community College women's basketball team took a beating by Cloud County Community College 81-40 Saturday night at the Barton Gym.  As frigid from the field as Barton was on the night shooting a season low 25% from the field, Cloud County was the flip side of the pillow connecting on 54% of their shots including beating the Lady Cougars down the floor for a twenty-point transition advantage.  Firmly in the seventh spot of the conference standings, Barton drops to 11-12 in the Jayhawk and 14-13 overall while Cloud County keeps in the mix to move up from their sixth spot in the standings improving to 15-8 and 18-8 on the year.  With three remaining games left of the regular season, Barton plays the first of two home games left on the schedule this Wednesday in a 5:30 p.m. tip hosting Pratt Community College

Baylee Robinson was the lone Lady Cougar to reach double figures scoring ten points.  Leading scorer Katrina Roenfeldt was held to just two points but led the team in steals with three and tied for the top stat with Michael Jellison's effort off the bench as the pair collected six rebounds and dished out two assists each.

Scoring twenty-tow points in the teams' previous meeting in Concordia, Chelcie Kizart again led the Thunderbirds in scoring with seventeen as she grabbed a career high seven of Cloud County's fourteen steals.  Erin Alexander added fifteen with Kaley Broeckelman scoring eleven and distributed a team high four assists.  Simone Walker led in rebounding with seven in addition to her ten points to round out the double-digit scorers.
