In addition to Kansas signees, Head Coach Alan Clark announces the commitments from four out-of-state players to the Barton Community College women's basketball 2016-17 roster.  The signees include Baylee Robinson, a transfer from another NJCAA member college, Juliana Chagas from Brazil, Stormeigh Mattison from Michigan, and Anterrika Willis from a Barton favorite recruiting ground of Memphis, Tennessee.

Averaging seven points and six rebounds for Trinidad Junior College in Colorado last season, the 6'1" Robinson is originally from Goddard High School in Roswell, New Mexico.

"Baylee brings collegiate basketball experience, as well as, needed size to Barton," said Clark.  "She is an athletic forward who can play in the post with really good length which can be utilized in our pressing defense.  Baylee is also very personable and will be an asset to our team and campus community."

Coach Clark adds a talented international guard from the Santo Andre/APABA basketball club with the addition of the 5'6" Chagas hailing from Marillia, Sao Paulo, Brazil.  

"One of the hardest working kids around, Juliana can shoot it well and can attack the basket in many ways," remarked Clark.  "She is a wonderful young lady with lots of upside potential as well."

Coming off a 20-2 senior campaign for Southfield High School in Southfield, Michigan, the 5'10" Mattison helped her team to a 38-5 record in her final two years of high school bringing a winning mentality to the mix.

"Stormeigh is a very athletic wing who can defend, score and rebound," said Clark.  "She is another great kid we are bringing in who is fun to be around contributing both great passion and energy to our team."

Adding another 6'1" frame to the roster, Coach Clark again has attracted another Memphis area standout in the signing of Willis.  Averaging 17 points and eight rebounds per game for Mitchell High School, Willis was an All-District player and a Pepsi Best of the Preps selection.

"Terrika is another player with good athleticism and length with the ability to step out to three point range and make shots," commented Clark.  "We are very proud to have Terrika join the Barton family."

The out-of-state signees with the addition of incoming Kansas players and returners draws Coach Clark closer to a full roster in his inaugural head coaching season.  The Lady Cougars will open their 2016-17 campaign with a November 2 home contest before hosting the Best Western/Booster Club Classic November 4-5.
