For the first ten minutes, the Barton Community College women's basketball team was deadlocked with Otero Junior College.  Unfortunately for the Lady Cougars there was thirty more minutes to play as Otero pulled away with for an eleven point halftime lead going on to win 90-74 in the opening night of the Otero Classic in La Junta, Colorado.  Dropping to 1-2 on the early season Barton will have the opportunity to return to .500 on Saturday as the Lady Cougars take on Trinidad State Junior College at 2:00 p.m. Central Time.
