Historical records fall in 89-3 Lady Cougar win

The Lady Cougars jumped out to a twenty-six point advantage before the Aggies could break into the scoring column. McPherson freshman Ashton Bruner scored sixteen of her team leading twenty points in the first half as Barton held a commanding 53-1 intermission advantage in route to the historical 89-3 victory.

In addition to Bruner, fellow freshmen Taylor Mayes and Tomiaya Graham also scored in double-figures with thirteen and ten points respectively as each Lady Cougar scored at least two points.

History made
Two historical records fell in Saturday's victory over the non-NJCAA school. The three points allowed were the fewest since Barton limited Lincoln School of Commerce to eighteen points on November 30, 2002. Committing only one turnover, the Lady Cougars also set the record bettering the five turnovers against Marathon County on November 22, 2007.

With official statistics pending, Barton also entered the record book in three other categories. The eighty-six point margin of victory tied for the third largest spread, just three behind the eighty-nine points set in the Lady Cougars' 108-19 win over Seward County Community College on February 12, 1983. Barton also put up the third best marks in field goal percentage at .625 and three-point shooting percentage at .600.
