Cougars clinch share of West title; can win conference outright Saturday
The Barton Community College women's basketball team earned at least a share of the Jayhawk West title Wednesday night and is now one win from claiming the title outright for the 2nd straight season. Barton defeated Colby 85-56 at the Community Building in Colby to move to 13-2 in Jayhawk West play – 1 game ahead of a trio of teams with just 1 game to play. The Cougars, ranked No 16 in the NJCAA, can claim back-to-back titles with a win over Pratt Saturday night at the Barton Gym. Barton is now 23-6 overall this season and have won 13 straight basketball games. Colby fell to 9-21 and 4-12 as the Trojans played their regular season finale.

The Cougars led 24-18 with 7 minutes to play in the opening 20 minutes and promptly closed out those final minutes with a 22-0 run.
