All State performer Weiser commits to Barton women
The Barton Community College women's basketball team continued its success in recruiting with the commitment of Kimber Weiser from Oakley High School in Oakley. Weiser will bring a wealth of playing experience to Barton as she was a 4-year starter in high school. Her career has been marked by numerous achievements both individually, as well as from a team standpoint which includes a 2A state championship her junior year.

During her senior year, Weiser had an outstanding season statistically averaging 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists per contest. She shot 58 percent from the field, including 46 percent from the 3-point line and she was an 81 percent free-throw shooter.

Weiser's junior and senior seasons were punctuated with multiple individual accolades. She has twice been named as 1st Team All-State by both The Topeka Capital Journal and the Wichita Eagle. The Salina Journal and Hays Daily News tabbed her as 1st Team All-Area, and she was a 1st Team All-League selection.

Weiser was also a 1st Team All State selection by the KBCA as both a junior and a senior, and she will participate in the KBCA All-Star game in August with future incoming teammates Jordi James and Danielle Bird. In addition to the athletic success, Weiser has a GPA of 3.5, and she will bring a tremendous work ethic both on and off the court to Barton.

Assistant Coach Ben Lister comments – "We are very excited about the addition of Kimber to our program. She does so many things well on the court, and her consistency shooting from the perimeter is excellent. She has a score's mentality and she has a very high basketball IQ. We are also very impressed with her work ethic and her desire to get better. That mentality and competitiveness combined with her talent will allow her to excel at our level. Kimber definitely has the mentality to continue to improve and we look forward to being a part of that progression. She is a tremendous person both on and off the court and we look forward to her future here.
