Cougars back on winning track with win over Pratt; reach 20 wins on season
The Barton County Community College women's basketball team ended its 2-game skid with a convincing win over Pratt Saturday night at the Barton County Gym. The Cougars rolled to a 71-51 win over the Beavers on Homecoming night to start the 2nd time through the Jayhawk West. The Cougars got off to a quick start and never trailed in the contest. The Cougars improve to 20-3 on the season and 7-2 in West play. Pratt falls to 11-12 overall and 1-8. Barton will be on the road Wednesday to take on Garden City in West play before getting a week off.

Highlights
The Cougars jumped to a 9-0 lead on Pratt out of the gates and quickly pushed that lead to double digits. The Beavers briefly cut that lead to 18-10 but other that that, Barton led by double digits the remainder of the way. The Cougars biggest lead in the contest came at 24 points late in the contest before settling for the 20-point win.

The win snapped a 2-game losing skid for Barton, the longest in the 2-year tenure of Coach Lane Lord. That was Barton's 1st back-to-back setbacks this season with just the 3 losses but Barton lost back-to-back 5 times last season.

Brianna Buchanan led Barton with 12 points followed by Stephanie N'Garsanet with 10. The Cougars had all but two players score in the contest. Andrea Barber and ChrisDell Harris each had 7 rebounds while Buchanan had 4 assists to pace the Cougars.

Barton will be back on the road Wednesday to take on Garden City, a team Barton held off in overtime at the Barton County Gym earlier this season.
