Barton moves closer to home playoff game with win over Cloud
The Barton County Community College women's basketball team moved closer to hosting a home playoff with a win over Cloud County Saturday night at the Barton County Gym. The Cougars rolled to a 60-47 win over Cloud to stay in a tie for 4th place in the West. The Cougars improved to 9-5 in West play and 19-9 overall. Cloud County fell to 14-15 overall and 5-10 in the West. The Cougars contest was the final home game for Barton, who will conclude with road games at Dodge City and Seward County.

Highlights
The Cougars jumped out to a big lead in the contest, grabbing an 18-4 lead on the Thunderbirds. Barton spent the rest of the maintaining that double digit lead on the Thunderbirds. Barton pushed the lead to a high as 18 points during the win and never let Cloud closer than 12 the rest of the way.

The Cougars shot nearly 50 percent from the floor, knocking down 26-of-54 shots. Barton has hit higher than 50 percent just once this season – the Cougars last game against Butler. Barton forced Cloud into 28 turnovers that resulted in 25 Barton points.

The Cougars were paced by sophomore Vivian Ewalefo on sophomore night at the Barton Gym. Ewalefo scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace the Cougars. Sunshine Uli added 10 points off the bench. Kina Miller led Cloud with 14 points.

The win assured Barton of a winning Jayhawk West mark for the first time in 4 years. Barton is still looking for a home playoff spot and 1st Region VI win since that time as well.
