Ewalefo brings NCAA Tourney experience to Cougars

Vivian Ewalefo will bring the experience of the NCAA Women's basketball tournament last season to the Barton County Community College women's basketball team next season. She was a member of the Liberty University basketball team which lost to Georgia in the opening round of the tournament. Ewalefo, a 6-0 forward, will be a sophomore for the Cougars and new coach Lane Lord next season.

Ewalefo played in 27 games for the Flames last season as a freshman. She played just 6 minutes a contest, averaging 2 points and 2 rebounds per contest. Liberty finished the season with the 25-7 record and a perfect 14-0 in the Big South as the Flames captured both the regular season and post season tournament in the conference. The club took a 19-game winning streak into the NCAA Tournament where they fell to Georgia.

Before attending Liberty, Ewalefo was a standout prep player in Las Vegas for Palo Verde High School. She averaged 18 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals her senior season, earning her all-state honors. She was also tabbed the Outstanding Female Athlete by the Las Vegas Athletic Club. Ewafelo was a 2-time All-State selection, a 3-time All-Region pick and the team MVP 3 times.

Coach Lane Lord comments
Vivian is an outstanding inside-out player who will be an immediate impact player for the Cougars. She can mix it up inside or shoot the 3 and play on the perimeter. Vivian is a versatile player who has great speed and athleticism. She gained valuable experience this past season while playing in the NCAA women's basketball tournament.
