Barton women lose at No. 9 Seward County
The Barton County Community College women's basketball team continued its string of ranked foes, playing the 3rd straight Top 20 in the NJCAA poll Saturday when the Cougars traveled to Liberal to take on a Seward County team that had won 122 straight home games. The Saints made it No. 123 with an 82-41 win over Barton County. The Cougars fall to 12-11 on the season and 2-7 in West play.

Highlights
The Cougars battled with the Saints for much of the opening half, trailing just 16-12 with 12 minutes to play in the half. That is when Seward went on a 13-4 run in less than 3 minutes to take a 29-16 lead. The Cougars never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way.

Saara Pelttari led the Cougars scoring attack with 12 points, including a 3 treys on the night. Natalie Arndt paced Barton on the boards from her point guard spot with 8 rebounds and also led the Cougars with 4 assists. Amanda Foster had a huge game for Seward as the freshman from Ness City scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in just 25 minutes of work.
