Carlile signs to play hoops for Barton County women

Victoria Carlile was among the first 5 signees released by the Barton County Community College women's basketball team and 1st year head coach Lane Lord today. Carlile comes to Barton from Liberal High School and the hometown of Jayhawk West rival Seward County. During her time at Liberal, Carlile proved to a big-time scorer and 3-point shooter for the Redskins.

Carlile played for a Liberal team that struggled to a 9-11 overall mark, but Carlile led the Western Athletic Conference in scoring and 3-point shooting. She score nearly 20 points at contest hit 41 percent from behind the 3-point arc her senior season. The 5-6 shooting guard was named 2nd Team All State and 1st Team All Conference. Her junior season she scored 13 points a game for the Cougars.

Carlile has also been active in volleyball and track while at Liberal. Currently she has the longest javelin throw in 5A the state at 129-9. Last season Carlile took 5th in the 5A state meet to help Liberal to the team title.

Coach Lane Lord comments
Tori has outstanding shooting range and the ability to put the ball on the floor and score. Tori led the Western Athletic Conference in scoring at 20 points a game. She has excelled in volleyball and is currently the state leader in the javelin. Look for Tori to play the shooting guard at Barton next season.
